You must have a lot of questions.
We have answered them for you

What is it?

A 4-week cohort & community for people to go from ideation to launching a side-hustle‍ The core team will work 1:1 with the cohort members via expert-led masterclasses, community discussions, feedback & pitches themed around all the aspects of building a side hustle. We will get 100 people across the line in 4 weeks.

Is this a course?

This is not a course. Think of it as a 4-week boot camp where you work with like-minded peers, attend expert masterclasses, finalize an idea, get feedback, build an MVP and finally launch. The learning would be driven through the sessions and 1:1 mentoring but the outcome will be to get you to launch your side hustle.

Who is it for?

It is for anyone who has been on the fence when it comes to doing a side-hustle.It works if you: Have ideas but don’t know how & where to begin Have built projects but couldn’t launch Can develop products but get stuck with design & marketing Can market products but don’t know how to build Have ideas but don’t have the motivation to build Have built & launched products with minimal success Want to meet & build with an inspired set of people from around the world

Do I need to be from specific background to be part of this?

Anyone can build a side hustle (if you have the right motivation) and you can be from any background to apply for Build. What we really look for is your willingness to commit to learning & shipping as a side hustle. In the 4 weeks, we will help you with tools, guidance, mentorship, collaboration, and lots of learning, to help you build & ship a side hustle.

How will the program run?

Every week, there will be a theme. These themes will have goals that accepted builders would need to finish in order to make progress towards the launch of the side-hustle. Mentors & Builders in Residence will help you nail down the best way possible to achieve the week’s goal. ‍ A typical week in the cohort would look like this: 👉 Lots of idea sharing + discussions (async) between the selected and handpicked members of the community 👉 Couple of high-value sessions such as ‘How to become an idea machine, ‘How to get your first 100 users’, and ‘How to build a user flow’ with experts who have been there and done that. Think of these as the top people who will be taking sessions. 👉 Pitch and feedback on ideas 👉 Accountability check on progress wrt to the desired goal 👉 1:1s with other members and especially the core team to refine your project Broadly the themes for the 4 weeks will be: Week 1: Ideation and firming up on a side-project that is right for you ‍Week 2: User Flow & designing the MVP ‍Week 3: Building the MVP ‍Week 4: Launch and GTM

When does the program begin?

Our next cohort begins on June 10th, 2023. Applications are open between now and the last day to apply is May 31st, 2023

What time will the sessions take place?

We understand that you have a job and other commitments during the day. The sessions will take place after hours, at 7 PM EST on weekdays. On Saturdays, the sessions will be at 10 AM EST.

What are the selection criteria?

The application form seeks to understand the following about an individual: 👉Are you eager and hungry to build things on the side 👉Are you able to spot and think of problems to solve 👉Finally, there will be a video submission to understand how forthcoming you are as a person (comes in handy when building in public)

Do I need an idea to be accepted?

No, you don't need to have an idea pre-decide in order to apply and get selected. The first week of the cohort is dedicated to helping you reach a point where you have figured out what is the right thing for you to do/build on the side through 1:1 chats, peer feedback, and ideation sessions. You will become an idea machine at the end of Week 1 ‍Having an idea before joining is without a doubt an advantage but not a requirement.

When will I know the status of my application?

We will communicate the status of your application whether you made it or not in 48 hours.

What time commitment is needed?

We don’t expect you to spend more than 5-6 hours in total in a week. The community will be active all the time and you will be encouraged to join & participate as you desire throughout the day.

What is the cost?

If you get accepted, in order to confirm your spot you will need to pay USD 1000. We are charging and keeping it paid in order to ensure there is accountability at our as well as your end.

What is included in the cost?

You will get access to a cohort of 4 weeks, where you will have masterclasses, hands-on sessions and discussions. You will also get one-year access to the Build community on slack.

When am I needed to pay?

You will only need to pay which is the final step for your spot confirmation, once you have received the acceptance email. The acceptance will happen based on your application details.

Is there a scholarship?

We are keeping this fairly priced in order to ensure we give time to it. We believe the people we are looking to accept into the program will be able to afford it. But you can still get a partial scholarship on basis of your application

Who are the mentors?

We have carefully picked mentors to be people who are experts in their domain and have been building one hustle after another. The mentor pool has everyone from coding to no-code to marketing to design and more. There isn't an aspect of building and launching a side project that is not covered by this network.

Will I have 1:1 with the mentors?

Mentors will be doing drill-down sessions/masterclasses every week. Some of the mentors will also be available and accessible in the online community and answer questions about any/everything about the side project in line with the theme of the week. You can always approach a mentor to chat more or get on a call to discuss in detail something that you want to understand better. Builders in Residence will be available to do as many calls and 1:1 sessions as you desire but a lot of the discussions will be encouraged in the community for the greater good of everyone.

Will I work in a group or a team? Can I launch a project individually?

Yes, you can work independently to launch a side hustle of your own. But we have seen many collaborations happen in the community in the past. At the end of the first week or during the pitching you can join hands with others if you find their idea/work interesting.

Is it mandatory to launch at end of 4 weeks?

While we would love all the accepted builders to launch at the end of 4 weeks, we understand that sometimes you might just want to learn everything in detail and go about launching something of your own later. The community will be there even after 4 weeks and you can have a launch after the end of the cohort anytime.

Can I join with my friend?

Sure, please ask your friend to submit an application. Both of you will have to meet the bar in order to get accepted.
